The Minecraft jelly cube is a palm-sized squishy toy, not an item or mob in the game.

Walmart, Target and GameStop list it as officially licensed, one random cube per box. Their US list prices run from $4.97 (Walmart) to $9.99 (GameStop), checked October 7, 2026.

If you want a cube you can actually meet in the game, that’s the sulfur cube, added with the Chaos Cubed drop (Java 26.2, Bedrock 26.30) in June 2026. It gets its own section below.

I couldn’t find an official Mojang or manufacturer page for the toy. Everything about it here comes from retailer listings and buyer reviews, and anything I couldn’t verify is tagged.

Is there a jelly cube in Minecraft the game?

No. I found no jelly cube mob, block or item on the Minecraft.net Chaos Cubed page, or in the excerpts of Mojang’s Java 26.2 patch notes that I could read.

Mojang’s feedback site does host fan suggestions, such as a Jelly Block and an End Jelly mob. Those are player ideas, not planned content.

A Softpedia listing also carries an old Jelly Cubes mod (last updated December 15, 2014) that adds one food item crafted from two slime balls. I couldn’t verify it works or is safe on current versions, so I’d skip it.

Walmart, Target and GameStop were checked directly on October 7, 2026. The other rows come from search-result snapshots and may be out of date.

Two verified Walmart reviewers (May 23 and August 12, 2026) told shoppers not to pay third-party prices. One said three earlier orders were canceled as out of stock.

Prices move fast. On October 5, a Hip2Save reader saw $14.64 on Walmart.com, and a Hip2Save staffer said the $4.97 price was back the next morning.

How do you buy a Minecraft jelly cube without overpaying?

Check Walmart.com first and make sure the seller line reads “Sold and shipped by Walmart.com”. Marketplace sellers on the same page cost far more.

1.     Open the Walmart listing and read the seller line. The $4.97 offer is the one sold and shipped by Walmart.com.

2.     Check Target.com and GameStop for store pickup. Both showed no online stock on October 7, and I couldn’t verify store-level stock.

3.     Turn on a back-in-stock alert where one exists. ToyWiz has a notify-me button, and I didn’t confirm the others do.

4.     Order one. GameStop caps it at one per account, and several reseller listings say limit one per order or household.

5.     If you go to resale, compare against the $4.97 baseline, check the return policy and read the brand field. One eBay listing titled “AUTHENTIC” lists its brand as “Unbranded”.

Shoppers on TikTok report sightings at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, Kohl’s and Five Below. I couldn’t verify any of those store-level reports.

What is the gold-plated pickaxe or sword inside a Minecraft jelly cube?

Some retailers say a small share of cubes hide a real gold-plated pickaxe or sword inside the gel. No source I could verify publishes the odds.

ToyWiz, Toy Box Michigan, Moxie and The Store Before Time describe the chase item in their listings.

Walmart’s main product text doesn’t mention it, though a verified Walmart reviewer (May 23, 2026) says they still haven’t found the gold sword one.

One Depop listing claims a 1 in 48 chance. That’s a reseller’s claim with no The same listing ties each color to an in-game ore, and I found no official source for that either.

Don’t cut a cube open to check, especially with young kids around. It would release whatever small parts are inside.

ToyWiz lists April 2026, and The Store Before Time shows an April 7, 2026 arrival. A Depop listing calls it a 2025 “Series 1”. Treat all three as unconfirmed, and I found no announced Series 2.

Is the Minecraft jelly cube safe for kids?

Safety verdict: a retail copy carries the age and choking warnings you’d expect, and I found no recall of it. I also found no independent safety test, and counterfeit squishy toys are an active problem.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an alert on August 5, 2026 about fake squishy toys. It says it has identified 55 violative shipments at US ports and blocked 355,683 units.

CPSC’s advice starts with buying from reputable retailers and checking the packaging for age grading, warnings and manufacturer info.

It also says to stop using any toy that leaks, tears, or feels sticky or oily.

Never microwave or heat one. CPSC says heated squishy toys can burst and cause severe burns, and Smyths’ listing carries the same warning.

Minecraft jelly cube vs NeeDoh Nice Cube: which one?

Listings pitch the jelly cube as a NeeDoh Nice Cube alternative, but they’re different products from different brands, and I haven’t handled either one.

Price is the clearest gap. Walmart’s similar-items shelf showed NeeDoh Nice Cubes at $26.98 to $28.99 on October 7, 2026, though those may be third-party sellers, so it isn’t a list-price comparison.

What is the sulfur cube, the real cube mob in Minecraft?

The sulfur cube is a passive, slime-like mob that lives in sulfur caves and changes how it moves depending on which block you feed it.

Release coverage from XGamingServer and All Things How dates Chaos Cubed to June 16, 2026, as Java 26.2 and Bedrock 26.30. Nintendo’s Chaos Cubed post for Switch (June 17, 2026) confirms it’s out.

According to Minecraft.net, the update is free on Java and Bedrock, including console, mobile and PC. Java is now on 26.3 “Wilderness Bound” (September 15, 2026, Bedrock 26.50), per Minestrator and minecraft.how.

I couldn’t confirm any sulfur cube changes in 26.3, so check the 26.3 patch notes if one behaves differently from what’s below.

•       Killing it splits it into two smaller cubes.

•       Feed a small cube slime balls to grow it into a large one.

•       Pick up a large cube with an empty bucket. A cube holding primed TNT can’t be bucketed.

•       Making a cube absorb TNT earns the “Uh Oh” Husbandry advancement.

Nintendo’s post adds that you can keep one on a leash. It also says sulfur springs and geysers on the Overworld surface signal a sulfur cave below, and the spring gas causes Nausea.

Mojang’s notes include the archetype list. Third-party guides disagree on the count, so check the notes rather than a tally.

Three: the slime, the magma cube and the sulfur cube. Only the sulfur cube is passive.
