Arcade Monthly publishes news, scored reviews, hardware tests, esports reporting and practical guides, alongside a retro desk that treats old games as living culture and not as nostalgia bait. We play everything we review to the credits, we buy or disclose every piece of hardware we test, and we say plainly when a game is not worth your time.

How we score

Every Arcade Monthly review ends in a score out of 10, in half-point steps. A 5 is an average game, not a failure. Scores are set by the reviewer and checked by the reviews editor; nobody outside the editorial team sees a score before it is published. The full method is in our editorial policy.

Who pays for this
