Marcus Hale has been reviewing games professionally since 2012 and has filed more than 600 scored reviews. He joined Arcade Monthly at launch to build its review method: finish the game, state the hours, name the platform, and never round a score up out of politeness.
As reviews editor he assigns every review, plays a portion of each game himself and challenges the reviewer on the score before it is published. He also writes the larger action, fighting and role-playing reviews.
Marcus spent his teenage years in Chicago arcades entering fighting game tournaments, placing well enough to know how good the top players really are. He studied English literature at DePaul University and coaches a youth chess club at weekends.
