Deadlock Tier List: Every Hero Ranked for the Mind the Birds! Patch (October 2026)
Deadlock tier list for the Mind the Birds! patch: all 40 heroes ranked S to D using win rates from three stat trackers. Updated October 9, 2026.
Last updated: October 9, 2026. Patch: Mind the Birds! (October 6, 2026) plus Valve’s Minor Update of October 5. Platform: PC (Steam). Mode: standard 6v6.
The best heroes in this Deadlock tier list are Rat King, Paige, Graves, Seven, Kelvin and Victor, the only six who win at least 53.5% of their games on all three major stat trackers as of October 9, 2026.
The weakest picks right now are Baba, Shiv, Mirage, Sinclair, The Doorman, Warden and Pocket. Everything else sits somewhere in between, and the full ranking of all 40 heroes is below.
Deadlock is Valve’s 6v6 third-person shooter and MOBA hybrid, where you farm souls, buy items and push lanes. Valve still describes it as a multiplayer game in early development on Deadlock’s official Steam page, so balance shifts fast.
This tier list is built from public match data and Valve’s own patch notes. It isn’t based on our personal match history, and it doesn’t cover the separate Street Brawl mode.
How was this Deadlock tier list ranked?
Every hero is ranked by its worst win rate across three public trackers, so a hero only lands high if it’s strong on every site.
One site can be skewed by its time window, its rank filter or a small sample. Using the lowest of the three numbers filters that noise out.

S tier: who are the best Deadlock heroes right now?
Rat King, Paige, Graves, Seven, Kelvin and Victor are the best Deadlock heroes on the Mind the Birds! patch. All six win at least 53.5% of their games on every tracker we checked.
|
Hero |
Win rate range |
Why it’s here |
|
Rat King |
54.9% to 59.4% |
Released October 2 and already the most-picked hero on Deadlock Labs and Tracklock. Valve’s October 5 update cut Rule, Ratannia! hard (cooldown 130s to 160s, damage reduction 20% to 15%), so expect his numbers to keep sliding. |
|
Paige |
55.1% to 56.8% |
Top-two win rate on all three sites while making up just 3.3% of picks on Deadlock Labs. The September 16 update buffed her Heavy Melee spirit scaling (0.3 to 0.45) and Captivating Read’s T1 cooldown cut. |
|
Graves |
54.6% to 56.4% |
Consistent everywhere, with a low enough pick rate that few teams plan around the hero. Valve raised Graves’ health per boon from 33 to 35 on September 16. |
|
Seven |
53.8% to 55.9% |
Up 1.0 point week over week on Deadlock Labs at under 3% of picks. Lightning Ball’s T3 radius was buffed on August 12. |
|
Kelvin |
53.7% to 54.2% |
Just a 0.5-point spread between trackers, at the lowest pick rate in the group (1.3% on Deadlock Labs). Frozen Shelter’s base health regen now scales with spirit power (September 16). |
|
Victor |
53.6% to 54.1% |
Still clears 53.5% everywhere, but Deadlock Labs has him down 3.7 points in a week. He’s the S-tier hero most likely to drop next. |
A quick warning on Rat King: new-hero numbers are noisy. SeeMeta’s daily trend shows his win rate falling from 56.2% to 53.4% across his first six days.
A tier: which Deadlock heroes are strong but not broken?
Ivy, Haze, Dynamo, Abrams, Wraith and Lash are A tier. They win more than they lose on every tracker, and any of them is a safe pick if you’re comfortable on the hero.
|
Hero |
Win rate range |
Why it’s here |
|
Ivy |
53.0% to 53.7% |
Steady, low-drama numbers on every site. Valve trimmed Stone Form’s radius from 6m to 5.75m on September 16 and it barely moved her. |
|
Haze |
52.8% to 54.8% |
The most-played hero in ranked (she shows up in 63.5% of SeeMeta’s ranked matches). Her 52.8% ranked win rate is the only thing keeping her out of S. Fixation got an extra headshot stack on September 16. |
|
Dynamo |
52.6% to 53.1% |
Consistent across all three trackers. Singularity’s cooldown dropped from 265s to 250s on July 28. |
|
Abrams |
50.8% to 51.7% |
Solid, but down 2.7 points week over week on Deadlock Labs. Seismic Impact’s T3 Unstoppable was cut from 6s to 5s on September 16. |
|
Wraith |
50.6% to 51.2% |
One of the week’s biggest risers (+2.0 points on Deadlock Labs) despite Card Trick nerfs, helped by a Full Auto spirit scaling buff (0.03 to 0.045). |
|
Lash |
50.4% to 51.0% |
Very popular (in 51.4% of SeeMeta’s ranked matches) and winning just over half. His gun falloff and Flog heal (50% to 40%) were cut on September 16. |
B tier: which Deadlock heroes are fine if you know them?
B tier heroes hover around a 50% win rate. They’re playable in any lobby, but they won’t carry a bad game the way S tier picks can.
|
Hero |
Win rate range |
Why it’s here |
|
Vindicta |
49.9% to 50.7% |
Dead average on every site. Play her if she’s your main, don’t force her. |
|
Lady Geist |
49.9% to 50.2% |
Biggest weekly drop on Deadlock Labs (-3.9 points), even after Life Drain and Essence Bomb T3 buffs on September 16. |
|
Mo & Krill |
49.6% to 51.2% |
Fine in ranked (51.2% on SeeMeta) but down 3.5 points on Deadlock Labs this week. |
|
Apollo |
49.5% to 52.3% |
The biggest ranked vs normal gap in this tier: 52.3% in SeeMeta’s ranked data, 49.5% in Deadlock Labs’ normal-mode data. |
|
Drifter |
49.2% to 50.3% |
Hugely popular (in 46.2% of SeeMeta’s ranked matches) with a coin-flip win rate. |
|
Celeste |
48.9% to 50.0% |
Nerfed twice since August (Shining Wonder lost damage, radius and bounces) and now sitting right around 49%. |
|
Vyper |
48.0% to 50.6% |
Petrifying Bola’s cooldown went from 105s to 115s on September 16, and SeeMeta has her down 2.0 points against the previous two weeks. |
|
Calico |
47.9% to 50.8% |
Better in ranked than normal, but sliding on every tracker (-2.8 on Deadlock Labs, -3.6 on Tracklock). |
|
Holliday |
47.6% to 48.5% |
Stable. The September 16 Crackshot T2 change (adds -6% bullet resist) hasn’t pushed her past 49%. |
|
Infernus |
47.5% to 49.6% |
Picked in about half of ranked matches (49.8% on SeeMeta) but loses more than he wins there (47.5%). |
|
Yamato |
47.5% to 50.0% |
Down 2.8 points on Deadlock Labs this week. Okay in ranked, shakier in normal games. |
|
McGinnis |
47.5% to 48.3% |
Rarely played (1.0% of picks on Deadlock Labs), so her numbers lean heavily on dedicated mains. |
C tier: which heroes are below average this patch?
C tier heroes lose more than they win on every tracker. You can still climb on them, but you’re giving up a few percent before the match starts.
|
Hero |
Win rate range |
Why it’s here |
|
Mina |
47.2% to 47.6% |
Climbing on two trackers (+1.4 on Deadlock Labs, +1.3 on SeeMeta). One to watch. |
|
Venator |
47.1% to 47.9% |
Ira Domini now ricochets and fires split shots (September 16), and SeeMeta shows a 2.3-point gain. Rising, not there yet. |
|
Billy |
47.0% to 48.8% |
Slightly better in ranked, but losing ground on Deadlock Labs (-2.2 points). |
|
Bebop |
46.3% to 48.0% |
A crowd favourite (in 47.6% of SeeMeta’s ranked matches) whose win rate doesn’t back up the popularity. |
|
Rem |
46.2% to 47.3% |
Popular pick that isn’t converting into wins on any tracker. |
|
Grey Talon |
46.0% to 47.0% |
Consistently below average with a small player base (1.4% of picks on Deadlock Labs). |
|
Viscous |
45.6% to 46.7% |
The Cube’s cast range (26m to 20m) and Puddle Punch’s cooldown (21s to 24s) were both cut on September 16. |
|
Paradox |
45.4% to 45.5% |
The three trackers agree almost perfectly here, which is bad news. Kinetic Carbine’s minimum damage multiplier dropped from 25% to 10% on September 16. |
|
Silver |
45.4% to 47.8% |
September 16 buffs (health per boon 28 to 31, sprint speed 1.5 to 2.5) haven’t lifted Silver out of the bottom half. |
D tier: who are the worst heroes in Deadlock right now?
Baba, Shiv, Mirage, Sinclair, The Doorman, Warden and Pocket are the weakest Deadlock heroes right now, each dipping under a 45% win rate on at least one tracker.
|
Hero |
Win rate range |
Why it’s here |
|
|
44.8% to 45.9% |
Below 46% on every tracker after Affliction was trimmed twice in July (shorter duration, then about 6% less DPS). |
|
Warden |
44.6% to 45.7% |
Hit hard on September 16 (bullet damage per boon 0.28 to 0.25, Willpower T3 nerfs) and down 5.9 points in SeeMeta’s ranked data. |
|
The Doorman |
44.4% to 45.6% |
Doorway and Luggage Cart were both cut back over the summer, and he hasn’t recovered. |
|
Sinclair |
44.0% to 48.0% |
The week’s biggest riser on Deadlock Labs (+2.6 points) even after October 5 nerfs to his gun and Rabbit Hex. Could jump a tier soon. |
|
Mirage |
43.9% to 44.7% |
One of the least-played heroes (1.2% of picks on Deadlock Labs) and near the bottom on win rate everywhere. Fire Scarabs lost duration and a charge on July 28. |
|
Shiv |
43.6% to 45.4% |
Falling fast: -3.1 points on Deadlock Labs and a 15-point pick rate drop on Tracklock. |
|
Baba |
40.5% to 45.0% |
Released October 6, so this is launch-week data while players learn Baba’s Brews and The Birds. Don’t write her off yet, but don’t lean on her either. |
Why do Deadlock tier lists disagree with each other?
Deadlock tier lists disagree mostly because trackers measure pick rate differently, split ranked from normal games, and use different time windows.
Pick rate means two different things. Deadlock Labs shows Rat King at 7.9%, and its 40 pick rates add up to 100%, so it’s a share of all hero picks.
Tracklock shows him at 64.86%, because its FAQ defines pick rate as games on that hero divided by total games.
Ranked and normal games play differently. Apollo wins 52.3% in SeeMeta’s ranked data but 49.5% in Deadlock Labs’ normal-mode data. Same patch, different players.
Formulas force a top tier. Tracklock’s FAQ says it weights win rate 80% and pick rate 20%, then labels the top 10% of heroes S tier. Some hero will always be “S” on that site, even in a balanced patch.
New heroes skew everything. Baba ranges from 40.5% to 45.0% depending on the site, because players are still learning her. Fresh heroes also pull picks away from everyone else.
Tier lists can shift even when no balance patch lands, because adding new characters or new systems can change them on its own. That’s exactly what City Never Sleeps is doing to Deadlock right now.
How do the City Never Sleeps heroes change the Deadlock meta?
City Never Sleeps adds six heroes one at a time, so the Deadlock meta will keep shifting until the last one lands, currently expected on October 20, 2026.
Valve released the update on September 29, 2026 with a big visual overhaul of the map and neutral camps, and revealed six heroes: Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Baba and Violet (Valve, “City Never Sleeps”, September 29, 2026).
The update pushed Deadlock to a new all-time record of 228,086 concurrent Steam players, beating the 171,490 peak from September 2024, according to SteamDB’s player charts.
Players vote on the release order in the pregame lobby, and Valve releases a hero every Tuesday and Friday at 2pm PT. Here’s where the schedule stands:

Which Deadlock heroes should you take into Ranked?
Take three heroes from S or A tier into Ranked, because Valve only lets you queue heroes you’ve already won 15 Standard games with.
Valve’s Matchmaking Update (July 30, 2026) set the rules: you need 60 Standard wins to queue Ranked, at least three Ranked-eligible heroes, and only solo or duo parties. Ranked also bans three heroes per game instead of two.
Each hero can only be played once per match, so the most popular picks (Rat King, Haze, Lash) are the ones most likely to be taken before you get them. That’s why a three-hero pool matters.
1. Pick one hero you already enjoy from S or A tier as your main.
2. Add a second from a different type (for example, a Mystic like Paige or Graves if your main is a Brawler).
3. Add a low-pick-rate backup like Kelvin, Seven or Ivy, since they’re rarely taken in the pregame lobby.
4. Get 15 Standard wins on each before you queue Ranked.
5. Use the pregame hero swap to fix your team’s composition. Valve allows one swap per player.
Ranked Season 1 now ends Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 2pm PDT, with Season 2 starting right after (Valve, “Mind the Birds!”, October 6, 2026).
If you’re brand new, ImmortalBoost’s Deadlock guide recommends Ivy and Dynamo as easier heroes to learn. Both sit in A tier on this list, so they’re a sensible starting point.
Deadlock tier list FAQ
Who is the best hero in Deadlock right now?
Paige is the safest answer: she’s top-two on win rate across all three trackers (55.1% to 56.8%) as of October 9, 2026. Rat King has the highest single number (59.4% on Tracklock) but he’s brand new and was nerfed on October 5.
Is Rat King overpowered in Deadlock?
Rat King is the strongest new hero right now, winning 54.9% to 59.4% of games depending on the tracker. Valve already nerfed Rule, Ratannia! on October 5, and SeeMeta shows his win rate trending down since release, so “overpowered” may not last.
Who is the worst hero in Deadlock?
Baba has the lowest win rate on two of the three trackers (40.5% on SeeMeta, 42.8% on Deadlock Labs), but she only released on October 6. Among established heroes, Shiv and Mirage are the weakest, both under 45% on at least two trackers.
How often does the Deadlock tier list change?
Expect movement every few days during October 2026. Valve is releasing a new hero every Tuesday and Friday until October 20, and it shipped balance changes on September 16 and October 5.
Does this tier list work for Street Brawl?
No. Street Brawl is a separate mode, and trackers like Deadlock Labs and Tracklock keep separate stats for it. This list only covers the standard 6v6 mode.
